“Green Christian”

Are you tired?

Stressed out?

Overburdened?

 Go green!

The latest fad in the American society involves this push to “go green” or “be green.” The idea behind being “green” is to simplify your life, and maximize your resources.

It’s time Christians GO GREEN, also!

Not in the way the world speaks of the concept, but in our life of faith.  Our hearts, minds, and souls often get so cluttered with the newest Christian trend, church culture, and with preforming all our “Christian duties” perfectly that we become consumers as opposed to producers.  With so many resources out there, it’s easy to feed ourselves with over-processed, steroid-induced religion.  We focus on the sound, the five-steps, the lights, the programs, the show, the recognition, the activities, the fund-raiser…all the additives of faith.  And, we forget about living off the RAW-faith.  The additives to faith aren’t bad in moderation, but if they become the only thing will fill ourselves and our lives with, then we become unhealthy and unbalanced as Christians.  We waste our energy and the resource of time, money, and love on what does not maximize their potential or use them efficiently.  So, this series is about getting back to the basics – the raw and organic faith, based off Matthew 22:36-40, which says the most important aspect about being this thing called “Christian” is as follows:

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.   This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like this:  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the law and the prophets hand on those two commands.”

If we simplify our life of faith to loving God, everything else will fall in place.   When we love God WITH ALL of our mind, soul, and heart, then we do not have to worry about anything else.  A love that is ALL of ourselves, uncluttered and unprocessed, just pure love, is the basis of what it means to be Christian.  Being a Green Christian is doing everything out of this love for God, for when we love God, we begin loving others as well, and as we love others, our time, money, hearts, devotion, and energy are maximized, while at the same time simplified.  The Bible says so!  It says that if you love God, you will obey His commands (John 14:15).  Notice, loving Him comes first.  Loving Him and accepting His love is organic faith.  Anything grown out of this soil will also be organic and healthy; actions and deeds grown from anything other than a love for GOD are merely processed imitations of the real thing.

Join us on the journey of becoming GREEN, as we simplify the aspects of a life of faith, and re-root them in the organic soil of Christianity.  Guaranteed you will feel lighter, healthier, and more energized as you trim away the influx of the processed religion we all consume, and center your life and devotion upon the simplified faith – just loving God with everything that is within, about, and around you.
